1986  - 1989 training in printmaking and painting at the Vienna Art School; since 2007 exhibitions and other artistic activities, mainly in Vienna and neighboring countries.

 

Andrea Groier's works are mainly created in mixed media using acrylic, oil pastel, graphite, colored pencil and ink or using a wide variety of materials and objects - some of which are self-made. Variety of styles, richness of structure and the joyful use of colors characterize their exhibits. 

 

The starting point of the works is her interest in everything human. This is how snapshots are created against the background of collected stories, adventures and experiences both with her environment and with herself. With their own directness and intensity, often with a wink, the multi-layered works grant the viewer surprising and touching insights into the enigmatic microcosm of human life.

Andrea Groier's work arises mainly in mixed media using acrylic, oil pastels, graphite, colored pencil and Indian ink and under use of all sorts of materials – partial self-manufacturing objects. Style variety, structure wealth and use of the colors full of relish characterize her art works. 

 

Starting point of the work is her interest for everything human. So snapshots are made against the background of collected stories,  and experiences both with the environment and with herself. 

From the everyday and the banal, but also from the inscrutable and bizarre, the artist draws energy, ideas and creativity.
