geb. 1959, lebt und arbeitet in Wien;

1986  - 1989 Ausbildung in Druckgrafik und Malerei an der Wiener Kunstschule; seit 2007 Ausstellungen und andere künstlerische Aktivitäten vor allem in Wien und im benachbarten Ausland.

 

Andrea Groiers Arbeiten entstehen hauptsächlich in Mischtechnik unter Einsatz von Acryl, Ölpastell, Grafit, Buntstift und Tusche bzw. unter Verwendung verschiedenster Materialien und – teilweise selbstgefertigter – Objekte. Stilvielfalt, Strukturreichtum und der lustvolle Einsatz der Farben charakterisieren ihre Exponate. 

 

Ausgangspunkt der Arbeiten ist ihr Interesse für alles Menschliche. So entstehen Momentaufnahmen vor dem Hintergrund gesammelter Geschichten, Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen sowohl mit ihrer Umwelt als auch mit sich selbst. Aus dem Alltag und dem Banalen, aber auch aus dem Abgründigen und Skurrilen schöpft die Künstlerin Energie, Ideen und Kreativität. 

 

Mit der ihnen eigenen Direktheit und Intensität, oftmals auch mit Augenzwinkern, gewähren die vielschichtigen Arbeiten den BetrachterInnen überraschende und berührende Einblicke in den rätselhaften Mikrokosmos menschlichen Lebens.

Andrea Groier' s work arises mainly in mixed media using acrylic, oil pastels, graphite, colored pencil and Indian ink and under use of all sorts of materials –partial self manufacturing objects. Style variety, structure wealth and use of the colors full of relish characterize her art works. 

 

Starting point of the work is her interest for everything human. So snapshots are made against the background of collected stories,  and experiences both with the environment and with herself. 

From the everyday and the banal, but also from the inscrutable and bizarre, the artist draws energy, ideas and creativity.

 

With her inherent directness and intensity, also with a

wink, she gives the viewer often surprising and touching insights into the complex work

about the mysterious microcosm of human life.
